Scope of this Standard
This Trinidad and Tobago Standard provides requirements and methods of test for general purpose safety footwear, other than all-rubber and all-plastics moulded types. This standard specifies the three grades of toe impact resistance of safety toecaps as 200 Joules, 150 Joules and 120 Joules respectively. This standards also includes requirements for the following types of specialised soles: a) protective midsoles; b) outsoles resistant to the effects of oil; c) outsoles resistant to hot contact; d) electrically resistant outsoles of Conducting Footwear; and e) electrically resistant outsoles of Antistatic Footwear.
